Cerwin Vega

Cerwin-Vega was founded in 1954 by aerospace engineer Gene Czerwinski in Los Angeles, establishing itself as a pioneer in high-efficiency audio reproduction. In 1957, they introduced the world's first solid-state amplifier, and by the 1970s, their speakers powered tours for The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, and Emerson Lake & Palmer. Cerwin-Vega won an Academy Award in 1974 for their Sensurround technology that shook movie theaters during "Earthquake." In car audio, their Stroker Series became synonymous with high-SPL competition subwoofers featuring dual spider designs and reinforced cones. After ownership changes including Gibson Guitar's bankruptcy in 2018, all Cerwin-Vega brands have reunited under one roof, continuing a 70+ year legacy of loud, efficient, durable audio.
