Build Publishing Fixed, Smarter Search & Price Pipeline Healing
We ran a deep end-to-end audit of the build submission flow — signing up, creating a build, and publishing it exactly the way a brand-new member would — and fixed what we found. The headline: a validation bug that could block publishing entirely is gone, and editing a build no longer risks quietly losing your equipment list. Product search also got a real upgrade under the hood, and we repaired the pipeline that keeps product price ranges fresh.
- Fixed the publish blocker — setting an Install Difficulty on your build could fail validation with an unhelpful error and stop you from publishing. That bug is dead, and a permanent test now guards against it ever coming back
- Editing a build no longer silently un-links its equipment — a save error that used to be swallowed is now caught and surfaced
- Submit and publish buttons are now double-click-proof, so an impatient tap can’t create duplicate builds or requests
- Product search upgraded to a hybrid engine — exact keyword matches and meaning-based relevance are now blended, so "12 inch competition sub" finds what you meant, not just what you typed
- Repaired the pricing pipeline so product price ranges and "Where to Buy" stats update reliably again — and hardened it against the failure that stalled it
- Search suggestions and Compare links no longer surface retired or duplicate listings, so fewer dead ends when researching gear
- Event cards got their flyer images back — a display regression was hiding them
- The shops map no longer loads blank until you resize the window, and features still under construction are now labeled honestly instead of looking broken
- Filtered equipment views now restore correctly when opened from a shared or bookmarked URL
- Shops removed from the directory no longer linger at their old URLs
- Mobile polish: floating buttons stack instead of overlapping each other, and detail pages no longer overflow on small screens
- Account deletion requests now process more reliably end-to-end
- Tightened input validation across our APIs and added strict schema checks on every external data feed we consume — bad data from third parties gets stopped at the door instead of leaking into the catalog
- Copy cleanup across the site: pluralization, stale counts, doubled brand names in FAQs, and assorted typos
Builds Stability, Sharper Calculator Math & Link Healing
A reliability-focused stretch centered on the build experience. Your in-progress build now survives an accidental refresh, build pages opened from in-app browsers recover on their own after we ship an update, and photo uploads finally tell you what went wrong instead of failing silently. The Box Calculator picked up two real accuracy corrections, and we healed thousands of stale "not found" errors so more of your old bookmarks and Google links land on the right page.
- Your in-progress build is now saved as you go — refresh, close the tab, or drop offline, and your draft is waiting when you come back
- Fixed a crash that could blank out build pages opened from in-app browsers (Gmail, Messenger, Instagram) right after an update ships — the page now recovers on its own instead of showing "Something went wrong"
- Photo uploads now surface the real reason when something fails, and mid-upload network drops are handled gracefully instead of silently losing the image
- Draft builds on your dashboard open straight into the editor now, with a completeness nudge to help you finish and publish
- Cleaned up Like and Follow across builds, brands, and profiles — Like is front-and-center, duplicate Follow buttons are gone, and attribution is clearer
- Build editing: fixed several owner links (Add Photos, videos, edit deep-links) that pointed to the wrong place, plus a clearer photo-limit indicator
- Box Calculator accuracy: corrected isobaric enclosure sizing (no more doubled cone area) and the group-delay phase math for truer sealed and ported results
- Healed thousands of stale search and bookmark links — old "Compare" URLs, filtered build views, and renamed product pages now redirect correctly or are properly hidden from search instead of returning errors
- Product listings in search now reflect their current vs. retired status accurately, so Google surfaces live pages instead of discontinued ones
- Fixed a dead link from the profile reminder that led to a "page not found"
- The feedback widget now grabs a screenshot automatically when you report something, so we can see exactly what you saw
Homepage Redesign, Box Calculator Tune-Up & Reliability Sweep
The homepage got a full redesign — a new HUD-style header, chamfered category tabs, and a masonry gallery that puts community builds front and center. The Box Calculator received a meaningful tune-up: more accurate port-length math (including proper multi-port handling), tab selection that respects your manual choice, and a canonical impedance model on the public API. Behind the scenes, we tightened referral attribution, image uploads, signup flow, and Garage stability so the day-to-day experience feels smoother end-to-end.
- Redesigned homepage with a HUD-style header, chamfered category tabs, and a masonry build gallery showcasing community work
- Box Calculator port-length math sharpened across the full operating range, with proper multi-port handling — each port in a dual- or quad-port build is now sized correctly for the chamber it shares
- Box Calculator tab selection (Sealed / Ported / Bandpass / Compare / Passive Radiator) now respects your manual pick — choosing a tab sticks while you fine-tune T/S parameters instead of snapping back to the auto-suggested layout
- Sealed impedance curves on the public Box Calculator API now route through the same canonical impedance engine the on-screen plot uses, so integrators get the same shape we render
- First-build onboarding email — a friendly nudge a few days after signup if you haven’t logged your first build yet
- Knowledge Sessions reading flow improvements, including a fix for sessions that occasionally skipped the next-up suggestion
- Referral attribution now survives across page loads and cold opens — share links reliably credit the person who sent them
- Image uploads no longer fail on small source files — watermarking gracefully scales for profile and build photos under the previous size floor
- Signup form surfaces clearer errors when something goes wrong instead of silently dropping the request
- Shop submission URLs are validated more strictly to catch typos before they hit the directory
- Garage and Build pages: cleaned up an issue where vehicle details rendered inconsistently and silenced a noisy session-refresh loop on long browsing sessions
- Continued automatic redirects for renamed and merged product URLs so old bookmarks and Google search links keep working
- Tighter handling of edge cases in event flyer generation — fewer odd-looking placeholder cards in the events feed
Variant Picker, Sharper Specs & Link Healing
Halo subwoofer pages now let you switch between color and configuration options with a single click. Behind the scenes, we ran another deep pass at subwoofer spec accuracy, trimmed duplicate entries from the catalog, tightened a handful of rough edges around sign-ins and event URLs, and healed dozens of redirect gaps left behind by recent catalog migrations so old bookmarks and Google search results land on the right page again.

- Consolidated the Skar RP-2000.1D amplifier listing cluster so search traffic lands on a single, current product page instead of three stale entries
- Activity feed filters out test accounts for a cleaner community view
- Invalid event URLs now correctly return a not-found page instead of rendering an empty listing

Parametric Spec Filtering, Zone Badges & Data Quality
Browse equipment by exact specifications with new parametric filters. Product pages now display compatible installation zones, and we significantly expanded Thiele/Small parameter coverage for more accurate calculator results.

Pages across the entire site now load significantly faster thanks to edge caching — most visitors see cached HTML served from the nearest data center instead of waiting for a server render. We also expanded the structured data that search engines use to understand our content, including return policies, shipping details, and richer event information.

The Box Calculator now models cabin gain — showing how your car's interior shapes your actual bass response, not just what the box produces in free air.
